Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from a cold and windy Shanghai. The holidays are over, and I already miss the nice weather, excellent food, clean air and water, and last but not least, the friendly people of Thailand.

Meanwhile get aquainted with my new network administrator, feline IT specialist Amy. Here she inspects the routers and firewall, and makes sure the goons stay out.

Hi, this is Andy from the music scene blog. Happy New Year.

I find this blog very interesting. When I was very small my Grandfather and Uncle had bought and refit a small Norwegian fishing ship, but big enough to have an engine room, and kept it at Hartlepool (UK). After going out on it I was always in love with ships and still love to read about the history of tall ships, especially.

    Have a great 2009.

  2. Hi Andy,
Nice to see you here! It’s funny what ships and the sea do to you once you experienced them. My father took me to the Hamburg port every now and then. These are almost the only memories I retain from that early. I was 5 or 6 at that time, and I knew immediately I was going to sail when I was grown up. Brought my family to the same places a couple of years ago, to show them what shaped my life. Well, it all happened, and my love for the sea is even more intense now that I am older. If I had to do it again, I would do it all over again, only I think I would sail full time for the Navy. I could retire by now if I did LOL.
I can’t wait till my ‘Waratah’ is ready to go to sea.
Cheers, and a Happy and Healthy 2009 to you and yours.
